1.0.2rc1 is Released

March 24, 2011 – 10:02 pm

Parcellite 1.0.2rc1 has been released.

It can be downloaded here.

This has bug fixes and new delete features. Here is i386, and here is amd64.

v1.0.2rc1  Thursday, March 24 2011

Changes
+Move configure.in to configure.ac, fix so just links with gtk+
+Removed files autogenerated by automake tools.
+Added auto-insert svn version for svn builds.
+Changed item_length to go down to 5 and up to 100.
+Changed Hot Keys so they activate on keypress.
+Added Ctrl,Shift-delete functionality.
+Added debian package build script.

I’m not so brave to suggest it’s ready for a release, hence rc1.

I’ve got some really nice features for multiple deletes - makes cleaning up the clipboard history really nice, and pretty much obsoletes using the clear.  You can do shift-right drag now and it will mark the entries as ready for delete. Hitting Ctrl-right drag will select individual items, and it toggles the delete. When you’ve got all the items you want deleted marked (with strike-through), you hit enter and the deletion is done.

I’ve changed the key release to a key press so it reverts to pre-1.0.0 behavior. I intend to bug-fix from here on out.

To use the new interface, use the Ctrl or Shift key in conjunction with right-click. If you hold Ctrl, then it toggles the delete on a single item. If you hold Shift while holding down right-click, then it toggles each item as it enters the item. To complete the delete, hit enter.

Enjoy!

  2. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but what does the “Capture Hyperlinks Only” Behavior checkbox do? It’s not in the documents. I’m still on 0.9.2 as that’s what’s available in the Maverick Meerkat repositories.

  3. Good work. I have been using RC1 for a couple of days with no issues.

Thanks for this awesome clipboard manager.

  4. Isaac,
Ha, I’ve never tested “Capture Hyperlinks Only”, and from what I just observed, it does nothing.

Also, you can update to the latest. Just download the .deb for your arch (uname -a will either give you i686 or x86_64). Sorry, those are the only machines I currently own.

Use ’sudo dpkg -i pkgname’ Replace pkgname with the name of the deb file you download.
    Cheers.

  5. Thanks both for the reply on “Capture Hyperlinks Only” and for the tips on upgrading to the new version (which I just finished doing).

  6. Isaac,
I will see what I can do about the ‘Capture Hyperlinks only’ - it may be that I broke something and there’s a simple fix. I’ve got more revisions coming up.
