  2. Ubuntu packages are availiable in my PPA for Intrepid and Jaunty:

I tried to leave direct links to the deb files, but the spam filters don’t seem to like lots of links. Oh well… You can find them there.

Hopefully these will hit Debian unstable soon as well.

  3. Hey

Thanks for keeping the development going - I don’t know how many times I use parcelite every day

By theaulddubliner on Mar 19, 2009

  4. Oh meant to ask if you could explain the various options such as ‘actions’ and clipboard sync

    Thanks :)

By theaulddubliner on Mar 19, 2009

  5. Very good! :)

  6. Clipboard sync: Keeps clipboard and primary the same at all times.

Actions: You’ll perform a command using the current clipboard contents. For example, making an action called WGET and putting “wget %s”. If you have a URL in your clipboard, execute WGET and it’ll perform the command “wget” for you.

  7. Hi everybody!

I don’t know where to report bugs, so I’ll do that here.

I have a bug with Parcellite. When I’m writing an post on Blogger and I copy/cut an image, on “paste” I’ll not get the image but I’ll get the last text copied in clipboard. If I close Parcellite this problem dissapear (so isn’t a Blogger’s bug).

Hope you understood me (I’m not a native english speaker). Thanks

  8. Great, with the daemon, I no longer lose copied text from closed X window.
In Ubuntu, adding parcellite -d to /etc/rc.local should be enough to make it start automatically, right?

By syockit on Mar 29, 2009

  9. It seems the program makes non-text copy & paste unusable, causing the bug as said by ov1d1u. Maybe you can put a test check to see if last copy was not object, and allow normal paste (disable parcellite paste) until the next text copy?

  10. Hello,

Thanks for your very useful program !

I have exactly the same problem on Ubuntu 9.04 - not able to paste an image from Gimp or Open Office - with Parcellite running, it pastes the last text selection instead of image.

There is a bug opened in Ubuntu Launchpad, for same thing with Glipper :

  11. Where Russian language??
In 0.9.0 it was, in 0.9.1 not, why?

  12. sorry - I wrong :)

  13. It still does not work with Synergy. Is there a special trick to do it ? Is it planned to make it work one day ?

  14. Hello,

I have exactly the same problem on Ubuntu - not able to paste an image from Gimp or Open Office - it pastes the last text selection instead of image.

There is a bug opened on Launchpad for this case - about Glipper but same thing :

Thanks for your very useful program !

  15. Thanks for the comments.

    Some notes:
    - 0.9.2 will be released soon with some bugfixes and some new translations that I recently received from the translators.
    - It seems Parcellite is breaking image copying and it’s likely caused by the way it handles NULL clipboards. It thinks the clipboard got emptied and recovers the last entry. I will be looking into this over the week.

By Xyhthyx on Apr 5, 2009

  16. BTW: “clear history” removes all entries from history - but the last item still lasts in the clipboard (i.e. it is accessible with CTRL+C) - should not it be not removed? I am not sure, but to me, it would maybe be more consistent.

  17. Thank you Xyhthyx for Parcellite. It is very better than gplipper. i hope you can solve the losing image bug. I can’t use parcellite all the time because it.

By guiodic on Apr 23, 2009

  18. drew: that was fixed in the development version. Expect that in 0.9.2

guiodic: Also fixed in the development version and also for 0.9.2 :)

  19. How can I put something back into the clipboard? I’d like to make an action that does search & replace on a string in the clipboard - got that part done, and not sure how to get the result back into the clipboard (seems parcellite doesnt accept the return from stdout)

By Vadim on May 1, 2009

  20. Nice creative use of the Actions. It should be accepting anything you pipe into Parcellite and copy it into the clipboard. If it isn’t I’ll have to look into that.

By Xyhthyx on May 2, 2009

  21. Aha, thanks. Got my action working now, except parcellite crashes when I do it from inside it :(

By Vadim on May 2, 2009

  22. Thanks for Parcellite. I was using Glipper, but it would randomly not copy/paste properly. The last thing I need is to have a non-deterministic clipboard. Today is my first day using Parcellite. I’ll let you konw how it goes, looks good so far.

  23. Xyhthyx, mind looking at the bug report whenever you got a moment?

By Vadim on May 18, 2009

  24. well, now it works well.

It would be fantastic if Parcellite show the images in the clipboard.

By guiodic on May 21, 2009

  25. Hello,

thank you for this useful app.

Have you ever thought of proposing Parcelline to became a official Gnome app? ;)

By Javier on May 28, 2009

  26. Hi, I am very happy with parcellite. This is a feature request. May we have an option to clean-up the clipboard when logout? or may be at scheduled times (though the latter does not seem so useful). Best Regards, Juan

By Juan on May 31, 2009

  27. Um, yeah, any news on the bug?

By Vadim on Jun 11, 2009

  28. Many thanks for that great software that definitely needs to get by default in GNOME!

By plop on Jun 20, 2009

  29. Hopefully Parcellite makes the leap forward to Karma’s official distro. It works sufficiently well.

    By John2000 on Aug 1, 2009

  30. Please, describe how to How to intercept in the program on the Python (WikidPad) text copying in the clipboard to store this text on one page?

    Thank you!

By Mike on Aug 29, 2009

  31. Thank you (and Wolfgang) for clipboard sync! That was the one thing I missed, and now I’ve got it.

By me on Nov 10, 2009

  32. So, what about the version 9.02? There’s been a time and that would be great to copy & past images.

By nomnex on Nov 15, 2009

  33. Hey,

Is the bug known, that you can’t copy and paste elements from inkscape to another inkscape window (same instance) while parcellite 0.9.1 is running?!

By loki on Nov 24, 2009

  34. How to sync clipboard?
    How to print clipboard history?
Where is the file with the clipboard history?
    Thank you!

  35. I want to tell that a reliable essay writing service supposes to be a light on the way of expository essay accomplishing. Thus, people should use it anytime they would like to buy essay papers.

  36. Can one configure Parcellite so that one could paste an older entry automatically upon choosing it from the clipboard list. For example:

    * ctrl-v pastes the last entry
    * ctrl-shift-v opens the clipboard list in a dialogue and choosing an entry from there pastes it automatically

It would save a lot of clicks.
