Version 0.9.3 Released

December 20, 2010 – 9:06 pm

Version 0.9.3 has been released. I’ve also started using the tags branch in SVN to denote released versions.

Download Here.

Please Note: All bug reports need to have the corresponding config file added from ~/.config/parcellite/parcelliterc.  I need to know your settings to debug properly.

PLEASE NOTE: If you downloaded 0.9.3 prior to 2010/12/23-5:45PM MST, then please re-download. The only difference is that the version was changed from ’svn’ to ‘0.9.3′. Sorry about that. Thanks, Jerome, for bringing my attention to that.

+Fixed 100% CPU bug that occurs with certain clipboard data.
+Fixed list not staying at the top of the list.
+Added patch that corrects clipboard losing text data when app closes (Thanks, sarahstrong).
+Added more man page information.

I am still going through the bug reports, patches, and feature requests. Pending means I’m evaluating/testing/validating, and there’s a good chance it will make it into the next release.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

We’ve got a new developer

December 13, 2010 – 7:55 am

Parcellite has a new developer, so some bugs will be fixed.  If you submitted bugs to an earlier release than 0.9.2, then please test against 0.9.2.   The latest release (0.9.3) will be released soon.

Thanks, and Good Night

April 2, 2010 – 8:57 pm

I’d like to thank everyone in the Linux community for their appreciation and words of encouragement. I hope that this tool has helped the people who use it, be it learning from its code or helping them work more efficiently. Unfortunately, I have lost interest in developing Parcellite further and I encourage the community to fork it and continue its development.

I will continue to write open source code as my time allows, just not related to clipboard management. Keep an eye out for other apps written by me :)

Outstanding Bugs, Patches and Translations

December 18, 2009 – 8:43 pm

Although I do not plan on actively developing Parcellite further, I did say I would merge patches and fix some outstanding bugs. There are also a number of translations submitted to me that I have yet to include. With this I hope to make another (small) bug-squashing release.

I feel that the work of others in the open source community should not be ignored. It is my responsibility to at least merge submitted patches (provided I feel they are good enough of course) and translations even thought I am not actively developing it. I will try to do this in the coming weeks.

I started working on another open source project and felt compelled to update this one before introducing a new project.

June 22, 2009 – 12:25 am

If you haven’t noticed, there has been a period of inactivity with development. This is mostly due to the amount of time I spend in other areas of my life such as work, girlfriend, family, etc. and also somewhat do to lack of interest. I do plan to sit down and iron out some bugs that are way past due, but I don’t plan to significantly develop Parcellite much further than its current state. There will be another project that I plan to work on soon and I hope the community will embrace it like they did Parcellite.

I appreciate the free software community’s support, especially those of you who have submitted patches and translations. Thank you again.

Memory Leak

February 5, 2009 – 2:40 am

There was a memory leak in the development version of Parcellite. Overlooking a single line of code is all it takes for your program to chomp at your memory like a hungry puppy. The following line fixes it:

Fix has been commited. Please update your working copies pulled from subversion and recompile. Also, I will be fixing some bugs with the Edit Clipboard window which has some weird behavior in different window managers. Soon after that another release will be made.

I’ve disabled comments because Akismet does not work on SourceForge and I don’t have time to look through 50+ comments to look for valid ones to approve. Please use the project tracker on SourceForge for bug reports, feature requests and patches. You can submit translations as a patch on the tracker or mail them directly to me (my email is in the About window).

Clipboard Synchronization

January 4, 2009 – 7:53 pm

Copy and Primary synchronization is now available in the svn thanks to Wolfgang Schnerring. Upstream development is not dead, only a little distracted :D
